University of Central Florida
The University of Central Florida Chapter of Sigma Chi teamed up with their Alumni Chapter in their annual “Orlando Scramble for Kids” golf tournament to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network of Greater Orlando, an organization committed to improving the lives of over 250,000 kids in Central Florida.
Sigma Chi continued to build on their outstanding success of the first three tournaments, which combine have raised more than $80,000. This year, the Brothers of Sigma Chi raised over $30,000 through sponsorships and donation.
The event attracted over 100 players along with top sponsors such as Boston Market, Capmark Financial, Citigroup, Conroy-Simberg, Eaton Corporation, Harland Financial, Hoar Construction, Jackson National Life, KPMG, Lawton Brothers, Margaritaville, MetLife, Resources Global, SCA Corporation, Standard Pacific Homes and Joe G. Hartman/State Farm Insurance.
Tournament Director, Glenn Clark, described the event:
"We tried to create an experience out at Grand Cypress this year for players at all skill levels -- both Sigs and non-Sigs alike – for a full day of golf at its best – from on-course lunch service from Boston Market along with beverages, to a chance to win a $30,000 Buick convertible on the course for a hole-in-one. We wrapped things up with a “Silent Auction” during cocktails and a highly entertaining “Live Auction” led by Alan Frenkel at Dinner – all to benefit the quarter of a million kids cared for each year by our two Children’s Miracle Network–affiliated pediatric hospitals in the Central Florida area.”
